Joy Clair - Happy Birthday

Wednesday, April 24, 2019

Hello everyone!

I am here with Joy Clair stamps sharing a birthday card with you.  I am using several stamp sets to create my background.  I used the newly released Whale Hello There, Seas the Day, and Anchors of Hope stamp sets.

A few weeks ago I was at a crop and decided to play around with alcohol inks using Tim Holtz Yupo paper and Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Ink Cardstock.  My project today, I used the Adirondack Alcohol Ink cardstock.  I love how this background came out.  I love that it's dark in some areas and light in others, it truly looks like the creatures are floating in the water.  I wish I had written down what colors I used to create my background.  However, if you trying to create a water background it will never look like mine.  Every design I created came out totally different, give it a try.  Keep looking out for some more of my creations using the alcohol inks, I have more to share.

Here is how I created my card,

1.  My card is an A2 size card,

2.  The alcohol ink background I cut with my cutter to fit my card base,

3.  I stamped all the elements from the Whale Hello There, Seas the Day, and Anchors of Hope stamp sets.  I used my scan and cut to cut them out,

4.  I colored all the elements with copic markers,

5.  I stamped the sentiment from the Seas the Day stamp set and die cut it out.  I placed all the pieces on my card that I wanted to use and adhered some with a tape runner and some with foam tape.

Here is a closer look at my card.

Joy Clair - Quick Quotes Promotion!

Wednesday, July 26, 2017

Hello everyone!

I  am so excited about this post! Joy Clair and Quick Quotes have joined together for a promotion and a giveaway! It's Day three of the promotion, if you have not stopped by Day 1 and 2, please check out the wonderful projects from the design team.  Joy Clair and Quick Quotes will be giving away a $25 gift certificate!

Now onto my project, I decided to change it up a little and I have created a portfolio with the Quick Quotes products and Joy Clair stamps. The portfolio measures 8 1/4 x 5 1/4. I started out with using the design paper from Quick Quotes to cover the front and back panels with the design paper which is from the Anchors Await Collection.

I created the frame with some blue card stock. I die cut the center and added some chipboard to the blue panel and inked the edges with Quotes Powder Puff ink and then added the family quote from the Quick Quotes Family & Special Moments Vellum Strips. I used my 5" Xyron to put adhesive on the back of the vellum. I used foam tape to pop the panel up into the frame. I then had some "nautical" items in my stash and I added the rope and shells to the front. I stamped and colored the mermaid from the Joy Clair Stamp Set called "Seas the Day". I added some mini rhinestones to look like bubbles coming from the mermaid.

These are the first two pages, I cut some Quick Quotes design paper and covered the pages which measures 7 1/2 x 4 1/2.  The pocket measures 3 1/2 x 4 1/2, the card measures 5 x 4.  The quote on the front of the card is from the Anchors Aweigh Strip.  The right hand page I added a 1/2 stripe down the side and only adhered the top and bottom.  You could add some pictures or post cards under the strip if you do not want to adhere them down.  At the bottom right hand corner I stamped an image from the Joy Clair Bible Journaling Collection Anchor of Hope set.

Here is what the portfolio looks like opened.

The next pages are the same measurements as the pages above.  The quote on the front of the card is from the Anchors Aweigh Strip. The image stamped on the right hand page is also from the Joy Clair Bible Journaling Collection Anchor of Hope set.

The last two pages are the same measurements as the first pages.  The design paper on the left hand side is from Quick Quotes 49 Shades of Grey Collection.  I used the quotes from the Quick Quotes Anchors Aweigh Strip.  The quote on the left hand side, I adhered it to the page on the ends so I could fit the frame under it.  The frame measures 4 1/4 x 3 7/8.  I added a layer of white on the frame and stamped the image on the bottom from the Joy Clair Everyday set Seas the Day.  On the right hand side, again I left the middle open so the tags could fit under it.  I stamped some images on the bottom of the tags from the Seas the Day set also.  The memories is from the Quick Quotes Family & Special Moments Vellum Strips.  You will see the tags in the video below.

Here is a short video so you can see the details of the portfolio.

Hello everyone!

I am here with Joy Clair to showcase "The Best of the Year" cards that I have created throughout the year.  It was so hard just to pick out 6 cards, but I managed to do so.  Here they are:

I have numbered the cards so you will know what card I am talking about.

Card #1  - Is from the Mardis Gras stamp set, I made a shaker card with this one. I love this set, I think I used it a couple of times through the year. Here is the link if you would like to check out how I put it together.

Card #2 - Is from the Merry Christmas Sentiments set and the Music Makers set.  These sets where a favorite of mine too.  I used this set a couple of times too through the year.  Here are the details on this card.

Card #3 - Is from the Seas the Day stamp set.  Details are here for this card.

Card #4 - Is another favorite of mine.  This is from the Oh Baby! set.  Details on how I put this together can be found here.

Card #5 - Is a clean and simple card, but I love the font on this sentiment.  This is from the Give Thanks stamp set, this set has all sentiments.  Details are here.

Card #6 - Is a new release from November called Holly Jolly Santa.  I really like this whimsical Santa and he was so much fun to color.  Detail are here.
