Trick or Treat

Wednesday, October 29, 2014

Hello Bloggers,

I am playing along with LawnScaping Halloween or color challenge.  Can you believe it is almost Halloween and the end of the month is almost hear?  Whew, only approximately 62 more days for Christmas.  Have you started Christmas shopping yet?   I have not. My grandbabies are already for Halloween, one is going to be a Ninja Turtle, one is Elsa and the other is going to be Monster High.

I decided to make the Lawn Fawn treat bag.  This bag was so hard to find, it was always sold out. The stamp set I used is Spooktacular and I used the dies to cut the elements out.  Aren't they soooo cute!  I love this stamp set and the treat bag.

Recipe:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Spooktacular
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Up Whisper White
Paper: Stampin Up Concord Crush, tangerine Tango and Doodlebug Design Ghouls & Goodies
Accessories: Lawn Fawn goodie bag, chit chat bubbles, Die-namic Pierced Circles, and Twine

Thanks for stopping by, please come back again soon!

Bringing You Joy

Thursday, October 23, 2014

Hello everyone,

I am back again with the October challenge with  A2Z Scrapbooking Supplies blog.  This months challenge is  to use TWO Hero Arts Hard products ie–Stamps/Stencil (or a mix of stamp and stencil) on a project. They can be any type of stamp but you MUST use at least 2 Hero Arts hard products to qualify for the challenge. Inks, stains etc do not count.  Please remember you can enter up to 5 times and you must mention the challenge and link back to the a2z Scrapbooking Blog to be eligible. For a refresher on the challenge rules please click HERE.

I decide to make a Christmas stand up card.  I love making these cards, you may see a few more of this style soon.  Most of this card is printed out, it is a digital set from Hero Arts, Chalkboard Christmas.  Isn't this just beautiful!  I love printing my own paper, it is much cheaper than buying cardstock and 12x12 paper.  I printed the paper and tree and mounted it to my stand up card.  I added some snowflakes, and pop up snowflake helpers.

Just a reminder if you purchase any of the items from a2z Scrapbooking Etsy store you can get 15% off your total order of over $25.00 by using the code “Donna15″.  Hop on over to a2z Scrapbooking blog and link your project, you have until October 31, 2014 at 11:59 EST to enter. I can’t wait to see what you create.

If you are interested in joining this wonderful design team, a2z Scrapbooking is having a design team call to start on November 1, 2014.  Detail are on the a2z Scrapbooking blog.

Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog - Challenge #18 - Layer It!

Monday, October 20, 2014

Hello bloggers!
I am back again with Craft Hoarders Anonymous blog for another wonderful challenge. Our sponsors this month is Add a Little Dazzle, and  Lindy's Stamp Gang.   One good way to use your hoard is to use lots of it all at once! So, let's see those layers! We need to see at least THREE layers on your project! (Ink, paint, embossing, and mixed media products do count as layers!) Drag out all of that hoarded paper or those embossing folders that are in the back of the drawer. Use those stamps, dies, and punches! Show us the layers!

I have a fun Halloween card to share.  I die cut the eyes and the blue and fushia color "Boo" out with metal from Add a Little Dazzle.  I have five layers on this front of my card and four on the inside.  I don't think I will be mailing this card, it is pretty heavy.  Do you notice the ghost on the top layer of the card?

One talented participant will receive this prize donated by Lindy's Stamp Ganga $30 Gift Certificate to the Lindy's Stamp Gang store!
I hope I have inspired you, hop on over to  Craft Hoarders Anonymous blog and link your project.  While you are over there, please stop by and see the other design teams creation! They are a bunch of talented  women.

You have until midnight PT, November 2 to enter the challenge.

Creative Blog Hop

Sunday, October 12, 2014

Hello all,

Happy Monday, I hope most of you are enjoying the holiday, Columbus Day, if you have the day off.  I am here today to share my post for the Creative Blog Hop.  My dear friend Tessa, nominated me.  I have been crafting with her for many years and she is a very talented crafter.  She is very well known in the crafting world.  Please check her blog out.

Here are my answers to the hop questions:

1.      What am I working on now?
Right now, I am on a mini vacation in West Palm Beach, Florida.  The weather is so warm and nice that I am going to hate to go home tomorrow.  But, before I left I had a couple of projects for the design teams I am on.  I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do.  So I am sure they are waiting for me and eager for me to start!

2.      How does my work differ from others in my genre?
"Differ", I don't think my work differ's from anyone else.  I just love making clean and simple cards. And I hope others are inspired by my work.

3.      Why do I create what I do?
I love crafting and making something that makes me feel good inside and to share it with everyone on my blog!  I enjoy participating in challenges that help me get my creative juices flowing. I particularly love altering cigar boxes.  I have many around my house that I have created and a storage room full of them that I have collected.  Hum, I haven't altered one in a while, I think it might be time.  Check back I may have one posted soon.

4.      How does my creative process work?
It takes me a while to start a project.  Sometimes I do a sketch of what I think I want to make and I'll take it from there.  I will surf the Internet for ideas and a lot of times  I get my mojo on late at night when I should be in bed.

I'm going to pass on the nomination to these two creative ladies:

Gigi-Zone - Jetti
I have known Jetti for many years.  We use to scrapbook and make cards together.  We would love getting together for card parties.  Jetti is a Close to My Heart demonstrator, so that should tell you how she loves the art of crafting.  I had to move away, but we stay in contact and love talking about crafts and our grandchildren.  Stop by Jetti's blog if you can.

StampNWhatNot - Jeannette
Jeannette is another one of my friends that is a very talented crafter.  I have known Jeannette for about five years and we meant each other at a crop and figured out that we went to the same high school and we have several acquaintances.  What a small world.  Jeannette is also a very well know crafter in the crafting world.  If you have time please stop by her blog.  She is a Stampin Up demonstrator.

I hope you have enjoyed the hop.  Check back next Monday to hear about Jetti and Jeanette's creative style.

World Card Making Day with Butterfly Reflections, Inc.

Sunday, October 5, 2014

Good evening everyone,
I am hear celebrating World Card Making Day with Butterfly Reflections Ink. There are two challenges on their blog, but I decided just to do one. This is a sketch, I love sketches that I created my card. There are only a couple of hours left to play along!
Here is the take on the sketch.  I used Stampin' Up's more mustard for the base of the card and the pumpkin.  The layers are Concord Grape and Gumball Green.  The pattern paper is doodlebug Ghouls and Goodies, which I cut out with Lil Inkers diagonal die.

Well, I was able to finish the second card for Butterfly Reflections, so I am adding it to this post.
This challenge was a color challenge, so I used some of the colors from Stampin Up to create my card.

I used the colors from the butterflies.  I used most of the in-colors which are blackberry bliss, hello honey and tangerine twist.  The base paper is Crumb cake and the sides are tangerine tango and chocolate chip.  The stamp set is a new set called "For all Things".

Thanks for stopping by, please stop back tomorrow to join Craft Hoarders Anonymou blog for their new challenge.

Mema's Crafts October Challenge - Tic Tac Toe!

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Hello bloggers,

I am here with Mema's Craft October Challenge, Tic Tac Toe!  Doesn't this sound like fun?  I had a wonderful time creating my cards.  This month's challenge is sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps and Stitchy Bear.  They have some very cute digi-stamps.  You have to go check them out.

Here is the diagram that you need to use to create your card, you need to pick any three in a row.  The lines are the rows I chosed.

This card, I used the digital stamp from Stitchy Bear, bling and die cut.  The paper is from Pebble-Welcome Christmas.  The bling is from Hero Arts.  I cut the circles out with the circle spellbinders.  The hat I cut out with my Silhoutte (isn't it cute!).  I finished the card off with some washi tape.

This card is a digi stamp from Bugaboo stamps and background stamp wood from Hero Arts, ribbon and a brad (Trick or Treats).  I colored both of my images with Prismacolors.  The bottom part of the paper if from American Crafts-Spooky.  I cute the spider web from a sizzix die.  The stitched die is from Lil' Inkers.  I finished the card off with some ribbon from Recollections.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please hop over to Mema's Crafts and play along with the "Tic Tac Toe" challenge.  I can't wait to see what you create.
