Hello everyone!

I am here with Retro Rubber and we have a fun sketch for you to try!  I hope you will join the fun with the team!    The rules to play along with Retro Rubber are very simple, make sure the stamp you use on your project is at least one year or older.   For more details on the rules, you can find them over on Retro Rubber Challenge blog.  Be sure to stop over on the Retro Rubber Challenge blog to get more inspiration, the design team has some wonderful creations!

Image may contain: text

Here is my take on the sketch.  I am using a sentiment from Gina K Design mini stamp set called "Massive Messages" and it was released June 2016.

My card is a CAS card....I cut a piece of design paper and adhered it to my card.  Using my paper cutter I cut the long triangles out and adhered them to my card.  I added the sentiment and finished off the card with some enamel dots.  Simple but fun!

Thanks again for stopping by, please don't forget to stop over at the Retro Rubber Challenge blog and join the fun and check out the beautiful projects the design team members have created. You have until November 3rd to join in on the fun!

Back with Joy Clair

Friday, October 20, 2017

Hello everyone!

I am back again with Joy Clair!  I am showcasing today the Color by Faith - Bible Journaling collection "Faith Quotes".  This set has some amazing quotes that are perfect for bible journaling, but also for making a quick card.  My card is an A2 card, I die cut the top layer with a Rectangle Stitched die, I then used a few Circle Stitched die and cut them out randomly.  I then die cut some stitched circles from the Rinea paper foil and added them to the die cut circles on the card.  I stamped the sentiment from the Joy Clair Faith Quotes stamp set and die cut it out with a stitched circle and used foam tape to pop it up on my card.

My next card, I had so much fun creating!  The stamp set is another release from last month from Joy Clair called  "Out of this World".  It is a box card die that I used from Lawn Fawn.  I die cut three of the pieces and put the box together.  I used a sheet of paper measuring 5x8 and distressed the paper using Tim Holtz distressing inks.  I splattered some water, white and black distress paint and Sheer Shimmer Sparkle onto the distressed piece of paper so that it could look like the galaxy.  I then used the dies from the box card and die cut the sides out of the paper I distressed and adhered them to the box.  The top of the box where the scallops are, I made a interactive piece so Saturn can move around the card.  I colored all the elements using copics from the Joy Clair "Out of this World".  I used clear acetate to place the elements in the box card.

Here I wanted you to see the bottom of the box card.

A Blog Named Hero and Lawn Fawn Critters

Monday, October 16, 2017

Hello everyone!

I am back again with A Blog Named Hero and Lawn Fawn!  I love making Halloween and Fall cards, so I am sharing a Halloween card with you today.  If you have not had a chance to join in on the challenge this month, please do....it's all about Critters.

I am using the Lawn Fawn dies and stamps trick or treat border, happy howloween, Spooktacuar, stitched hillside backdrop: portrait, and perfectly plaid chill petite paper pack.  The sentiment at the bottom is  Hero Arts Celebrate Everyday.

My card is an A2 card, I die cut the hillside backdrop with black card stock, I die cut the fence with white card stock and added it to the background and used the perfectly plaid paper pad paper for the background.  I colored all the images with copics and die cut them and added them to the card.  I finished the card off by adding the trick or treat border.

Closer look at the card:

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you have enjoyed seeing my card. Thank you  Lawn Fawn for collaborating with A Blog Named Hero! I really enjoyed working with your products!

Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #73 - Halloween

Tuesday, October 10, 2017

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another wonderful challenge with Retro Rubber!  The challenge for the next couple of weeks is "Make a Halloween Card".  I love making autumn cards, I love the rich colors of orange, brown, green and purple.  I hope you will play along with us!  To play along with the Retro Rubber Challenges you must use a stamp set that is at least a year old and tell us how old your stamp set is.

No automatic alt text available.

Here is my take on the challenge.  The adorable pumpkins are made by Joy Clair, called Trick or Treat.  The set was  released sometime in October 2015.  This set is adorable it has many elements in the set that you can add to the pumpkins.

Here is how I created my card:

1.  A2 card, 4 1/14 x 5 1/2, the orange layer is 4 x 5 1/4, the white layer is 3 7/8 x 5 1/8,
2.  I stamped the pumpkin images from the Joy Clair stamp set called Trick or Treat, I masked the images so they could be in a group,
3.  I colored the pumpkins with copics - Y17, Y38 and YR68, the stem is YG67,
4.  I stamped the images on the pumpkins with onyx black versafine ink pad,
5.  I die cut the  "Happy Halloween", I cut it out with black cardstock, but before I did that I added some 1/2 inch score tape to the back of the paper so when I die cut the words it would be ready to stick down on my card.  The words are so thin it would have been hard to add any adhesive to it,
6.  I added some black splatter to the card,
7.  I finished the card off by adding some orange enamel dots.

Thanks again for stopping by, please don't forget to stop over at the Retro Rubber Challenge blog and join the fun and check out the beautiful projects the design team members have created. You have until October 20th to join in on the fun!

Joy Clair Inspiration

Monday, October 9, 2017

Hello everyone!

I am here with Joy Clair showcasing a couple of the new releases from last month.  My first card is from the set called Noah's Ark which is from the Color by Faith - Bible Journaling collection.  I made a clean and simple card since I do not journal.  This stamps are so versatile, please stop by Joy Clair's blog to get some more inspiration from the design team.  I started out with an A2 card, I die cut the white layer with a rectangle stitched die and then cut out the black layer.  I am using the technique when you stamp off and then stamp the image, I then added the sentiment on top with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

NOAHS_ARK_image with watermark

My second card is from the Everyday Collection which was also released last month called "Fall Leaves".  I love this set, there are a variety of leaves in different sizes and shapes.  The leaves come with the vein if you want to use it also.  On my card, I am doing a watercolor technique.  I used three or four inks and shushed them into my craft mat and sprayed it with water.  I then took my stamp and stamped it into the water solution and stamped my paper.  I like the way it came out....how about you?  I decided to use a few layers on this card.  I die cut the white sheet with a rectangle stitched die, and then added some twine.  I cut the next layers and adhered them to my card.

I hope I have given you some inspiration.  If you have not had a chance to join the "anything goes" challenge, please take a minute and join.  Joy Clair will be giving away one $25 gift card to the Joy Clair Store, randomly selected to give everyone a chance to win.

Saturday, October 7, 2017

I hope you have been able to join a challenge or make a card to celebrate today!  To celebrate World Card Making Day Joy Clair will be offering 20% off your entire order October 7th and 8th.  The coupon code is JCWCMD2017.  So please hop over to the store and get all the stamps you have been wanting.  Also Joy Clair will be having challenges and surprises all day long!  So be sure to check back to see what they are.

All day Joy Clair will be sharing a card of inspiration.  My card for today was to make a card for a friend!  My card is for a dear friend Avis that I have known for almost 30 years.  She is a wonderful christian friend and is always there when I need her.  I know I can call her and she would be right there for me.  My card is perfect for  her, because I know she will always be sweet on the inside.

Here is my card I made with Avis in mind!

I started off with an A2 card.  I used some flowery design paper I had in my stash and added it to my card.  I die cut a panel and added it to my card.  I die cut two circles and stamped the sentiment on the white cardstock.  I stamped the pineapples from the Joy Clair Color By Faith set called Be a Flamingo.  I colored them with copics and used foam tape to pop them up on the white circle cardstock.  To finish off my card I added some black dots from Nuvo Black Drops.

Here is a closer look of the pineapples.

Please follow Joy Clair's facebook page, Color by Faith Bible Journaling facebook page, Instagram and Twitter, be the first to hear the news, sales and giveaways! They also have a Pinterest page and Youtube channel for your inspiration!
