Spirit Week with Photo Scraps

Wednesday, April 8, 2020

Hello everyone,

I am playing a challenge with Photo Scraps, all week they have a project for each day of the week.  The first day (I am a little late) you were to make an Americana card.  I made this cute eclipse card with Taylored Expressions products.  The United States and sentiments is from the Land of the Free stamp set, the USA is a die from Taylored Expressions.  The design paper I used if from Authentique.  If you are interested in any of the products I'm sure Tracey will be able to order it for you.

Here is the diagram if you decide to play along, all you have to do is join the Photo Scraps VIP Facebook Page.  As long as you have everything done by the end of the week you can enter the challenge.

Here is my take on Americana.

Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #90 - Red, White and Blue

Tuesday, July 3, 2018

Hello everyone!

I am here with Retro Rubber Challenge blog and we have a new challenge, which is an inspirational photo.  With tomorrow being Independence Day in the USA, this is the perfect inspirational photo to show off your red, white and blue cards!  I love these colors together, stop over at the Retro Rubber Challenge blog for more inspiration.

If you have not joined our challenges before, the rules are very simple, just use a stamp older than a year and you must include the age (or approximate age) of the stamp in your blog post. Here is the sketch for you to use. I cannot wait to see you take on it.

Here is my take on the challenge.  My card is an A2 card, I embossed the background.  The stamp is from Taylored Expressions called You've Got Mail - Patriotic, it was released in April 2015, the sentiment is from the Taylored Expressions stars & stripes stamp & die combo  and was released in May 2013.  I colored the image with copics, added some nuvo glitter gloss to give the card some sparkle.  I added some mini rhinestones and some nuvo drops to give my card some dimension.

Are you ready to play along? Be sure to stop over on the Retro Rubber Challenge blog to get some more inspiration, the design team has some wonderful creations! Thank you for stopping by, you have until June 29th to join the fun!

Joy Clair - Celebrate!

Monday, July 3, 2017

Hello everyone!

I hope you all have had a nice weekend and have had some time off to celebrate with your family Independence Day, if you live in the USA!  I am enjoying my long weekend with my family.  I hope to see the fireworks somewhere tomorrow, how about you?

I am here with Joy Clair, I am featuring one of the most recent new background stamp Grungy Flag.  If you have not seen all the beautiful designs the team has created, please stop by the Joy Clair blog to see them.  The sentiment is from the Joy Clair stamp Let's Celebrate.  This is a perfect stamp you can use for any occasion.  There is a girl image on this set and you can easily have her holding a flag for Independence Day!

Here is my card for your inspiration:

My card is an A2 card, I used my Misti to stamp the background image from the Grungy Flag background stamp.  I inked the flag up with red and blue at the same time and stamp it on my paper.  I think I stamped it about 3 times before I got the look I wanted (thank goodness for my Misti).  I added my sentiment at an angle.  If you can see I have a tool called a paper distresser made by Tim Holtz (tonic) and I distressed my edges so it would look grungy like the flag.  I adhered all my layers together and finished the card off by adding the star embellishments.

If you have not had a chance to join the "anything goes" challenge, please take a minute and join.  Joy Clair will be giving away one $25 gift card to the Joy Clair Store, randomly selected to give everyone a chance to win.

Please follow Joy Clair's facebook pageColor by Faith Bible Journaling facebook page, Instagram and Twitter, be the first to hear the news, sales and giveaways! They also have  a Pinterest page and Youtube channel for your inspiration!

Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #40- Red White and Blue

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am here with Retro Rubber Challenge blog and we have a new challenge, it is "red, white and blue". Oh how fun does that sound!!!  Love these colors together.  I have made a clean and simple card, but has lots of layers.  The stamp set is from a Hero Arts set called "Year Round Sentiments".  This is one of my favorite sets, if you need a sentiment, this is my go to set.  I have had this set for a while, I believe it was released around March 2012.

My card is an A2 card.  I stamped my sentiment in navy and added some stickles in the stars.   I put all my layers together and popped up the sentiment with popped dots.  I added the stars and could not resist using the white enamel white stars.

Thanks for stopping by, I sure hope you join us in the challenge!  I look forward to seeing your creations.  Don't forget to stop over to the Retro Rubber blog to see what the other designers have created.
