Joy Clair - Just Kitten Around

Friday, January 12, 2018

Hello everyone,

I am here with Joy Clair, this is my first post this year with the 2018 Design Team.  I am no stranger to Joy Clair I have been with them since November 2015.  Wow, has it been that long?  It seems like it was just yesterday I joined the team, that's how much fun I have been having!  I am excited about the opportunity and look forward to creating along with the rest of the talented team members.

I live in Northern Virginia (near Washington, DC).  I have a husband, two children and three grandchildren who keep me very busy!  My husband and I love travelling and spending time with our grandchildren.  I love crafting, but mainly I am a card maker.  When I am designing my cards, I like clean lines, I love coloring with Copic markers, and layering.  I love playing with all sorts of stamps, digital images, dies and papers.  My style varies but it is always elegant and well put together.  I hope I can inspire you during my time with Joy Clair.

The card I am sharing with you today is an oldie, but goodie called "Just Kitten Around".

Don't you think these images are adorable?  My card is clean and simple, but yet cute!  That cat seems like he is up to no good!

Here is how I put the card together:

1.  I started with an A2 card (4 1/4 x 5 1/2),
2.  I took some distress spray stain black soot and splattered on my card.
3.  I used the swoosh from the Joy Clair "Uh-No Ink Splatter" with some Kraft ink,
4.  I stamped the cat with Memento on X-Press It cardstock,
5.  I colored the cat with Copics (E35, 57, 79 and r81,
6.  I finished the card off by adding foam tape to pop the cat on the card.

Thinking of You

Wednesday, August 9, 2017

Hello everyone,

I have a CAS card I am sharing with you today.  My card was inspired by the CASology Challenge this week and the cue word is "Safari".  It was also inspired by the a2z Scrapbooking Challenge this month which is "bright and beautiful".  I think I managed to create both of these challenges.  The sun is bright and beautiful and love the silhouette of the giraffe.  I am using the Hero Arts Birthday Animal Silhouette stamp set and the sentiment came from the Hero Arts Color Layering Water Lillies.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back again soon!

Joy Clair - Let's Celebrate

Friday, August 4, 2017

Hello everyone,

I am here with Joy Clair with a birthday card to share with you.  It's the summer time, and it just seems like everyone's birthday is during the summer months.  My granddaughters have lots of birthday party's to attend!

Here is my card I have to share with you today.  It's a cute birthday card that is perfect for a child.  The set is called "Let's Celebrate, it has lots of images you can use.  This set is very versatile.  I chose to just use the balloons on my card today.

Here is a closer look at it....do you see the shimmer?  I used some Shimmer Sparkle spray to get the shine.

Here is how I put my card together:

1.  An A2 card,
2.  I masked my card off so I would have the distress color in the center of my card,

3.  I added some of the images to my card with ink,
4.  I sprayed my card with Shimmer Spray,
5.  I then cut the balloons out using my Silhouette,
6.  I colored them using Copic markers - these are the colors I used:
R81, 83, 85,  Y17, Y38, YR68, and BV05, 07, 09,
7.  After the Shimmer dried, I adhered the two balloons to the card and added the middle one with dimensionals,
8.  I finished off my card by adding the sentiment.

Have you stopped by the Joy Clair blog to play along with the current challenge which is "anything goes". If not, please come play, Joy Clair will be giving away one $25 gift card to the Joy Clair Store, randomly selected to give everyone a chance to win.

Happy Puperoni!

Sunday, July 9, 2017

Hello everyone,

I am stopping in to post this cute card for the CASology challenge blog, which the theme is "Pizza". When I saw this, I knew exactly what stamp set I was going to use. I received this set which is called "Favorite Puperoni" for my birthday from Simon Says Stamp.

I stamped the cut dog and then stamped it again on some masking tape and masked the dog off and stamped the pepperoni pizza and birthday hat.  I colored the images with copics and added the sentiment.  So cute and clean and simple.  I really wanted to add some sequins, but since the challenge is CAS I decided not to.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back again soon!
