Hello Friend - Gina K designs

Friday, April 29, 2016

Hello everyone,

I don't know if you noticed the store has been closed all week, because Gina K Designs is moving to a new location but the store will be open tomorrow!  I don't know about you, but I cannot wait.  I have been going through withdrawals.

I'm stopping in to share a card I created with Gina K. Stamps "Hello Friend". This is a brand new incentive stamp set that was release with the StampTV kit Sending Love kit.   The stamp set ships free with any $75.00 order! This set will ship automatically without adding to your cart.

Here is the card I created.  I embossed the two flowers and leaves randomly on vellum with white embossing powder.  The vellum is thick and it's great for heat embossing.  I colored the flowers and leaves with copic markers on the back side of the vellum.  I love the way the colors peak out of the white embossed flowers and leaves.  I then adhered the vellum piece on the Gina K's Pure Luxury cardstock Turquoise Sea.  I finished my card with adding dew drops that match perfect with the cardstock.

If you missed the StampTV release party for the "Sending Love Kit" here are some of the cards I created using the kit.  Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back again soon!

World's Best Mother!

Thursday, April 28, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am stopping in to play along with the Fab Friday Challenge, which is a sketch and CASology challenge which the theme is "Sprinkle".  I have a sprinkle of hearts all over my card to show my mom how much I love her!

I am using the stamp set "A Nice Cuppa".  The base of my card is Bermuda Bay and the first layer is Melon Mambo.  I used the DSP stack "Have a Cuppa".

Here is how I put my card together....

  • stamped the solid tea cup from the set and fuzzy cut it
  • added the sentiment from the same set
  • stamped a few of the small hearts with the Melon Mambo ink by Stampin Up and punched them out with the small heart punch from the Stampin Up itty bitty accent punch pack
  • finished my card by using the white tea lace paper dollie

This was a very easy card, loved the sketch.  Thanks Fab Friday for having a great sketch challenge and CASology for the inspiration of sprinkles.

Thanks so much for stopping by, please come back again soon!

Retro Rubber Challenge #37 - Sketch

Tuesday, April 26, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am back again with Retro Rubber Challenge blog and we have a sketch challenge for you.  I hope you will join the fun and play along with us.  Here is the sketch and my take on it.

I love the bright colors of my birthday card.  You can never have enough birthday cards in your stash. The balloon and sentiment is from the Stampin Up set "Celebrate Today" and it was released in December of 2014.  The "happy birthday" sentiment is from the Hero Arts "Year Round Sentiments" which is one of my favorite sets from 2012.

How I created my card:  I stamped the balloon with SU Hello Honey and stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy.  I die cut the balloon out and added some twine and popped it up on my card.  I added some DSP at the bottom of my card for color and stamped my sentiment.  I added some enamal dots to finish off my card.

I hope you have been inspired by my card to join the challenge. You have until May 6 to hop on over to Retro Rubber to join the challenge. Remember to use a stamp over a year old and make sure you tell us how old it is. I cannot wait to see your creation! For more inspiration, please stop over at Retro Rubber to see what the design team members have created!

Also stop over at the Retro Rubber Challenge blog and check out the beautiful projects the design team members have created. Leave me a comment to tell me how you liked my card, I love to read them. Thanks for stopping by, come back again soon!!

Brighter Days

Tuesday, April 26, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am stopping in to play along with Addicted to CAS "Rain" challenge and Fusions "April Showers" challenge.  I just love umbrella and rain type stamps and dies.  This stamp is called "Bear Splash" by Stampendous is just adorable and I just had to ink her up!

I used a stencil by Dreamweaver to make the rain in the background.  I die cut the clouds from Memory Box and inked them up to give them dimension.  I stamped the image and colored her with copics and fuzzy cut her out and popped her up with dimensions.  To finish off the card I added the sentiment by Pretty Posh.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back again soon!

a2z Scrapbooking April Challenge - Water coloring

Sunday, April 24, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am here with a2z Scrapbooking challenge which is water coloring.  Earlier this month I made a card using a background layer that I made with Ken Oliver's colorburst with an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. I told you I might be back with another project using the same paper.  This time I cut a circle out of the water color paper.  If you missed the card, here it is and you can see how I made my background.

Here is a closer look at the card.

Here is how I put the card together:

I cut two layers with some stitched dies, I then used the circle that I cut out of the piece I used earlier in the month.  I then die cut three butterflies from theButterfly Pair stamp and cut stamp set.  I only used the small butterfly.  I also cut the "thanks" from the water color piece of paper I had left over. The "thanks" and the sentiment is from the Thanks stamp and cut set.  The 8 1/2 x 11 sheet can go a long way, I still have lots more to use.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope I have inspired you to join the a2z Scrapbooking challenge this month. For more details on the challenge, you can find it here. Please make sure your project uses at least one Hero Arts product. If you are in need any of the items I used or any Hero Arts products please visit the a2z Scrapbooking store you can use coupon code "Donna15" at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more before tax and shipping). Happy Mother's Day

Thursday, April 21, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am popping in to share a clean and simple Mother's Day card.  I love the simplicity of using white on white with a little color. It use to be hard for me to do one layer cards, but now it is getting easier to do.  For my card, I die cut the outline rose die by WPlus9 , sponged some distress inks on the card, glued my pieces down, added my sentiment "Strictly Sentiments 4" by WPlus9 and finished the card with some sequins.  Simple as that!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I am entering my card in the following challenges.
