Retro Rubber Challenge Blog - #81 Sketch

Tuesday, February 27, 2018

Hello everyone!

I am here with Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and we have a new challenge, which is a sketch!  I don't know about you, I love sketches.  I pulled out a stamp set I have had a long time and have been wanting to use it, so I was very happy to see the sketch, because I knew I was going to use this set.  The set I am using is a Reverse Confetti Stamp Set called "Butterfly Dreams", which was released March 8, 2016. The sentiment is also by Reverse Confetti called "Fancy Word Coordinates" which was released on April 8, 2015.

If you have not joined our challenges before, the rules are very simple, just use a stamp older than a year and you must include the age (or approximate age) of the stamp in your blog post.

Here is my take on the sketch......

I cut a panel for my card, stamped the butterfly with Kaleidacolor ink and die cut it out, I cut a piece of vellum and then added the circle wreath and and adhered it to my card.  I popped the butterfly up with foam tape.  I finished the card off by adding some dew drops.

Are you ready to play along? Be sure to stop over on the Retro Rubber Challenge blog to get more inspiration, the design team has some wonderful creations! Thank you for stopping by, you have until March 9th to join the fun!

Joy Clair - Everyday Stamps

Saturday, February 24, 2018

Hello everyone,

I am back again with Joy Clair stamps featuring a couple of newly released stamp sets called "Best Buds" and "Gnome Is Where the Heart Is".  These two sets are so adorable, the design team has created some really cute projects with them, please be sure to stop by Joy Clair's blog and check them out.

Here is my first card, which is Joy Clair "Best Buds", this may be my favorite of the whole release.

Here is how I put my card together:

1. I started with an A2 card (4 1/4 x 5 1/2),
2. The die cut the heart layer and adhered it to the base of the card,
3. I stamped the cute cats and heart from the Joy Clair "Best Buds" stamp set with
Black Memento then colored them with copics,
4. I then stamped the sentiment from the Joy Clair set "Love Languages" and die cut the
sentiment and layered it with black card stock,
5. I die cut a circle out of vellum and then added all the elements to my card.

My next card is the stamp set from Joy Clair called "Gnome Is Where the Heart Is".  This is a very versatle set, again the design team has created some wonderful projects with it.

1.  For my card, I found the background paper in my stash, I cut it at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2,
2 . I then stamped all the images with Memento black ink, and colored them with copics,
3.  I stamped the sentiment from the Joy Clair "Gnome Is Where the Heart Is" and die cut it
out and added it to the card,
4. I then added them to my card and finished it off with some Dew Drops.

I hope you will play along with the Joy Clair Challenge this month. The theme is always anything goes and our Design Team uses a photo inspiration to create their project that you can use too. Celebrating Mardi Gras with Joy Clair!

Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Hello everyone!

I am here with Joy Clair and we are celebrating Mardi Gras! I am using the stamp set called Mardi Gras.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets of Joy Clair Stamps!  Be sure to stop over on Joy Clair Blog to see all the Mardi Gras inspired cards!
Here is my card:

Here is how I put my card together:

I started out with an A2 card and cut out a piece of cardstock 4 x 5 1/4 and embossed it with an embossing folder.

I used my Silhouette to cut the SVG file for my masks that I wanted to use on my card.  Did you know with every stamp set you purchase from Joy Clair you get the SVG file free?  I then used my Misti and trimmed down the piece of paper that was cut with my Silhouette, I took a piece of post-it note and laid the cut file on top.  I centered the stamp over the negative cut and stamped it.  If the stamp was not centered you can always move the paper around.

Once I got the stamp where I wanted it, I stamped the image.

I placed the positive cut into the negative template, and re-stamped the stamped image.  Whalla, I have a perfect stamped image!  You can repeat stamping as many of these images as you want.  I like to have a few on hand just incase I wanted to use them on another project.  You can also keep the negative piece of paper if you want.

Playful Pups

Bundle Stamps and Dies- Playful Pups

I couldn't decide which puppy I wanted to use because I think they are all so cute, but I decided on this one.  I decided to use the heart cut out which I thought went perfect with the sentiment!  I cut a circle with the Gina K. Designs Circle single stitched die and adhered it into the frame of the heart.  I colored the puppy with copics, die cut him out and popped him up in the center of the circle.  I added the sentiment and finished the card off with some sequins.

Frisky Felines

Bundle Stamps and Dies- Frisky Felines

Isn't this kitty the cutest, he looks like he has been into something he was not suppose to.  I stamped the base of my card with Gina K. Designs Kraft ink, I added the two layers, colored the kitty and yarn with copics, added my sentiment and added some Gina K. Designs Crystalline Drops on my card.

And lastly here is my playful pup, he is our family dog and he is about 7 years old!  He is a friendly dog and loves to be with family.  If I had to tell you one thing about him, is he NEVER goes to bed without his treat, he will come and nudge you and tell you "I'm ready to go to bed and I need my treat".

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have been inspired! For more inspiration, below is the blog hop list, please stop by and leave a comment.  Don't forget there is a chance to win a $50 gift card to the Gina K. Store....Good Luck!

My card has lots of layers, I foiled this card with Gina K. Designs Fancy Foils™ 6" x 8" Bubblegum Pink, the Foil-Mates I used are Gina K. Designs Foil-Mates™ Backgrounds - Love and Kisses and
Gina K. Designs Foil-Mates™ Sentiments - Lovely Tags.

Here is a closer look of the card.

I thought these new Foil-Mates™ would look great on gifts for a teacher, school-mate or anyone that you wanted to give a Valentine gift to.  I got this idea by looking at Pinterest.  Did you know Gina K. has Acetate Card Boxes in the Gina K. Designs Store?  They come in a pack of 10 for just $6.00 (the link is below).

Here is how I made the candy boxes:  I took one acetate box and cut it in half (cut at 3", one side my be a little smaller than one side, but it is not noticeable) with my paper cutter.  I foiled the papers I wanted to use and cut it at 4 1/2 x 5 1/2, on the 5 1/2 inch side, scored it at 3" and 4".  I bought some Ghiradelli Chocolates and covered them with my scraps of foil.

Here is a side view, when you insert the foiled paper, tuck it into the acetate box flap on the bottom no adhesive is necessary to attach it anywhere!

I used magnets to keep the flap closed, but you could use Velcro or just put a glue dot to keep it closed.

Closer pick....don't you love the foiling - this is foiled with the Bubblegum.

Closer look - this is foiled with the  Red Velvet.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have been inspired! For more inspiration, below is the blog hop list, please stop by and leave a comment on each blog for your chance to win a $50 gift card to the Gina K. Store.
