3. I die cut another layer and used some distress inks to get the galaxy look and adhered that to the first layer,
4.  I used the free SVG and stamped my image,
5.  I colored it with copics, and used pop dots and added it to my card,
6.  I then stamped the sentiment to finish off the card.

A Blog Named Hero with Simon Says Stamps

Wednesday, December 6, 2017

Happy Holiday everyone!

I am here with A Blog Named Hero and this month we are collaborating with Simon Says Stamps  to help celebrate their fabulous Die-cember release!  Our challenge this month is "Winter Holiday".  I am using the newly released die from Simon Says called "Everglade Collage".  The penguin is from Hero Arts called Baby Penguin Color Layering stamp set.

Here is how I put my card together:

I die cut the Simon Says Everglade Collage wafer thin die which measures 4.4 x 3.25.  I cut another piece of cardstock the same size as the die and used Tim Holtz distress oxide ink Salty Ocean for the background.  I sprayed the background with some water and then added some Sheer Shimmer Spritz Spray Sparkle to give the background some shine.  I used foam tape and put the die cut image and distress background together and then adhered it to the card.

I stamped the penguin with the coordinating colors which are Hero Arts Soft Granite, Charcoal and Black.  I die cut it out with the coordinating die and adhered it to the card.  I stamped and die cut the hat and popped it up on the penguin and added the bow tie which I die cut out with plaid paper.  Isn't this penguin the cutest?  This is a must have in your stash!

To finish the card, I added the sentiment which I stamped with versamark on black cardstock and embossed and heat set with Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I die cut it out and used foam tape and added it to my card.

Friday, December 1, 2017

Hello everyone!

Happy Holidays!!!!  So excited it is December and Joy Clair has a new challenge which is "Make It Pop Up"!.  Joy Clair has a challenge starting at the beginning of every month.  There may be an inspirational photo, but the challenges are always "Anything Goes".  Joy Clair will be giving away two $25 gift cards.  You will have plenty of time to play along because the challenge will run December and January.

Here is the inspirational photo and my card for your inspiration:

Here is my take on the challenge, "Make It Pop Up".  I have made an easel card, this card is an A2 size (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) so that it will fit in a regular envelope.  I am using the newly released "Christmas Cocoa" stamp set.  I stamped and cut the elements I wanted to use on my card.  I colored them with copics.  To make the easel card, I took a piece of card stock 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 and 8 1/4, I then took another piece of card stock 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and adhered it to the base of the scored card.

Ready for some inspiration? Here are a few of the projects I have created for today’s hop:

My first card is an A2 gate fold card. I used the snowflake pattern from the Gina K. Designs Foil-Mates™Backgrounds - Blizzard pack. I foiled the snowflakes with the Gina K. Designs Fancy Foils™ 6" x 8" - Sparkling Silver. The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Foil-Mates™ Sentiments - Joyful Holiday and die cut with the Gina K. Designs Double Stitched Squares Dies and Gina K. Designs Single Stitched Squares Dies and foiled with Gina K. Designs Fancy Foils™ 6" x 8" - Radiant Red.
I have some baked cookies that I have added one of the tags from the Gina K. Designs Foil-Mates™ Sentiments • Tag Tidings.  These tags are perfect for any gifts that you want to give.  The added foil makes the tags look so classy.  They are quick and easy to put together, using the Gina K. Designs Decorative Tag Dies set.  As you can see I couldn't just make one!

I created a box of Christmas cards to give as a gift.  The box has 4 cards and 4 envelopes.  The clear box is sold in the Gina K Store, here.  There are 10 boxes in the set.

The gift tag on the clear box is from Gina K. Designs Foil-Mates™ Sentiments • Tag Tidings, I used the Gina K. Designs Fancy Foils™ 6" x 8" • Radiant Red to foil my tag.  I die cut the tag from the Gina K. Designs Decorative Tag DiesThe white ribbon is very nice, I used the Gina K video to make the ribbon.  If you have trouble making bows like I do, stop over to Gina's YouTube Channel or StampTV and watch the video, there are several tips on how to make bows.  The following cards are in the gift box.
