Retro Rubber Challenge Blog - Anythign Goes

Hello everyone!

I am here with Retro Rubber Challenge blog and we have a new challenge, which is to make a card with fruit related staamps or paper. Be sure to stop over on the Retro Rubber Challenge blog to get more inspiration, the design team has some wonderful creations!

Here are my cards for your inspiration:

I love creating handmade card sets as gifts, and this set of five cards was so much fun to put together! I used the beautiful Primrose Garden Basics Collection (12x12) patterned paper from Paper Rose as the focal point for each card. The soft floral design paired perfectly with the simple, elegant sentiments.

For the sentiments, I pulled out a favorite retired Taylored Expressions set, Handlettered stamp set, which was released in 2019. I heat embossed the Just a Note sentiment in white onto a dark gray circle for a crisp contrast. The remaining sentiments are from Taylored Expressions Pop Sentiments stamp set, released in 2024.

I kept the card designs simple so the gorgeous patterned paper could really shine, adding a few scattered embellishments for a little extra sparkle. I made five cards to coordinate as a gift set—perfect for sending a little note of friendship, gratitude, or encouragement!

Here is my take on the challenge.

My card is an A2 card using the Newton’s Nook Designs Cherry Blossoms stamp set, which was released April 2024.  I stamped, die cut and colored the cherry blossoms with alcohol markers.  For the background, I die cut the arches from Taylored Expressions.  The white panel of the arch I embossed with TE Cherry Blossoms embossing folder.

My card is an A2 card.  I die cut the layers with Gina K. Designs Master Layout 1.  The design paper is from my stash which I believe is Sunny Studios.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Birthday Sparkles which was released March 2024.

Here is my card for your inspiration:

The stamp set I am using from Lawn Fawn called Give A Whirl Message which was released in June 2024.  

My card is an A2 card.  I used GKD Master Layouts 1 to cut the layers.  The design paper if from Retired Pink Paislee Paper Pad – Life's a Party.  I love this paper I have been hoarding it for a long time.  I then stamped and embossed the sentiment from Lawn Fawn called Give A Whirl Message and die cut it with the coordinating die called give it a whirl messages: friends lawn cuts.  Before taking the die off the sentient, I ink blended the center with pink ink.  I finished off the card by adding some pink hearts to my card.

Retro Rubber Challenge Blog - Inspirational Challenge

Here is my card for your inspiration:

My card is an A2 card, the tulips is an embossing folder from Spellbinders called Twirling Tulips, this embossing folder was released March 2024.  I embossed a piece of cardstock and then did the technique called Blackout.  I used small ink blending tools to add the color with ink pads and then took a black ink pad and covered the whole panel with black ink.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment from Taylored Expressions called On Occasions Stamp Set.  This stamp set was released in July 2022.

I created an A2 size card. I used a die cut from MFT stamps to cut the frame.  I die cut it twice, the center layer I used foam tap to pop it up.  The images are from Pretty Pink Posh stamp sets called

Spring Chicks and  Easter Sentiments which was released March 2023.  The sentiment is from the Easter Sentiments.

My tic tac toe is Bold Sentiment, Your Choice enamel dots and Die Cut, which I die cut the thanks and the sentiment strip. Here is my card for your inspiration. I've created an A2 size card. The stamp sets I am using from Taylored Expressions called "Bits & Blooms Stamp Set" that was released in July 2024, the word thanks is from the retired "Big Thanks Stamp Set" that was released March 2021 and the so grateful for you is from the "Simple Strips Stamp" released in September 2019. I stamped the background to create my own paper with the Bits & Blooms Stamp Set, i then stamped and die cut the word thanks and added it to the card.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Simple Strips and added it to the card.  I finished off the card by adding some gold enamel dots.

My card is an A2 card. I created the layers on my card using MFT 6x6 papers called Sweet Stack. The image on my card is from Pink and Main called Rawr, which was released in 2016. The sentiment is from MFT Stamps called Itty Bitty Love released in 2021.

I started by die cutting the top panel from Paper Rose 6x6 paper pad called Forest Trip.  The reindeer were die cut from Tim Holtz Nordic Winter Cover Die, which was released in November 2019.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs stamp set called Christmas Wishes which was released August 2015.

RETRO RUBBER CHALLENGE BLOG - TIC TAC TOE

Here is my tic tac toe.  I used the Texture in the background, the greenery are the trees, and the tag is the sentiment.  

My card is an A2 card. I started by die cutting the background which is a cover plate from Lawn Fawn.  I then die cut the trees and added some snow to them.  I then stamped and die cut the penguins which are  from the company Rubbernecker Stamps called Caroling Penguins which was release in 2018.  The company was renamed to Brass & Bliss Craft Co.  I assembled the card and added the sentiment which is from Pinkfresh Basic Banners Christmas which was released in August 2023.

My card is an A2 card.  I die cut this beautiful paper with a rectangle die.  I am using the same  paper I used last month from 49th & Market called ARToptions Spice which was release in August 2023.  I love taking beautiful paper and creating cards with it.  It's fast, but beautiful at the end.  I adhered it to a brown panel and added it to the card base.  I stamped the sentiment with black ink from a stamp set called Always Thankful from Penny Black which was released September 2014.

My card is an A2 card.  I die cut this beautiful paper with a rectangle stitched die.  The paper is from 49th & Market called ARToptions Spice which was release in August 2023.  I love taking beautiful paper and creating cards with it.  It's fast, but beautiful at the end.  I adhered it to a brown panel and added it to the card base.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment from a stamp set called Grateful Greetings from Taylored Expressions which was released September 2022.  To finish off the card I added some enamel dots from my stash.

My card is an A2 card.  I cut this beautiful paper from Paper Rose called Rainbow Twirl.  I thought it went perfectly with the color challenge.  I stamped and die cut the sentiment from Jaded Blossom stamp set called "So Many Birthdays 5", which was released in March 2019.  Before adding the sentiment, I cut a circle from vellum added it to the card and added the sentiment.

I've created an A2 size card. The stamp set I am using from Taylored Expressions is called "Gus & Gertie - Autumn Adventures" that was released in August 2022.   I created a night sky background using distressed inks.  I then die cut it with a stitched rectangle die from my stash, and also cut the grass to have the stitching also.  I stamped and die cut the images.  The tent and the camp fire is from Lawn Fawn called Build a Tent.  I used paper from my stash to die cut these out.  The trees are from Gina K. Designs from the Master Layouts 6.

I've created an A2 size card. The stamp set I am using from My Favorite Things (MFT) called "Big Birthday Wishes" that was released in February 2021 (it is retired, but if you google it, there are some stores that have it). I began with the background that was die cut from Newton's Nook Designs Fractured Card Layout Die using MFT paper.  I die cut the tennis shoes from MFT All-Star High Top.  I added the twin for the shoe laces.  I finished the card off by adding the sentiment from the Big Birthday Wishes.  I love how this card turned out, I made this for my granddaughters 13th birthday, and she loved it.

I've created an A2 size card.  I created the layers for my card.  The top white panel, I ink blended with purple ink colors.  I then embossed the panel using Spellbinders 3D Embossing Folder Beautiful Butterflies.  I added the butterfly from Spellbinders sticker butterflies called Moonlight Butterflies.  Ok, you might says it's not a rub on, but it is a sticker.  The sentiment is from Newton's Nook Designs Monarchs stamp set that was released May 2022.

Here is my card for your inspiration. I've created an A2 size card. The stamp set I am using from Jaded Blossom called "Floral Bunny Ears" that was released in March 2022. I stamped, die cut and colored the image with copics. The background is an embossing folder from my stash. I stamped and embossed the sentiment from Jaded Blossom "Blessed Easter" stamp set. I finished off the card by adding some pearl embellishments from my stash.
