Gina K with My Sweet Petunia!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Gina K Designs and the My Sweet Petunia’s Misti Blog Hop! You should be coming here from Susie Moore blog, next you will be going to Giovana Smith blog.  We are so happy you joined us for this fun collaboration blog hop. The design team has created some wonderful designs that will hopefully inspire you along the way. We all will be featuring the newly released Boho Flowers Mini Kit.

We have some great prizes all you have to do is leave a comment on each designer's blog (listed below).  You will be entered into a drawing for our hop prizes, which include winner's choice of  Original or Mini Misti or Gina K's upcoming newly released Stitched Leaves Mini Kit.   The deadline for commenting is September 5th at noon central time.  Winners will be posted on the My Sweet Petunia blog winners page and on the Gina K. Blog no later than Friday, September 8th.

Here is my card:

1.  I started out using Gina K. Design Ocean Mist premium dye ink for my masked off background,
2.  I then stamped largest flower from the Boho Flower Mini Kit with the Gina K. Onyx Black ink,

3.  I then masked the large flower and stamped the smaller flower from the kit,

4.  I left the larger flower masked and stamped the flower on the left side.

5.  I then positioned the "you" stamp from the Boho Flower Mini Kit and stamped it in the Gina K Onyx Black Ink,

6.  Hopefully you can see the grid that I printed on acetate.  I bought these acetate sheets from a local store, this acetate is specifically for inkjet printers.  The grid can be found on Splitcoaststampers website under My Sweet Petunia.  There are a number of tutorials and grids that you can download.  This grid helps you to line up sentiments or anything that you need lined up that you cannot do from the Misti.  Here I am lining up the sentiment under the already stamped "You".

7.  I added the butterfly and finished the card off by adding some enamel dots in the middle of the flowers and on my card.

There you go....using the Misti is so perfect to get your stamps positioned where you want them and get a crisp and clean stamped image!  I don't know how I stamped before without it.  This is definitely the number one tool I go to for all my stamping needs!

Thank you for stopping by and please come back again soon!

Here is the list to join the hop.  You should be going to Giovana Smith next from my page.  Good luck everyone!

No automatic alt text available.

Here is my take on the challenge:

Here is how I put my card together:

I am using the Lawn Fawn set called "A Good Apple" which was released the Summer of 2013.  I started out with an A2 card, I embossed the background paper with Stampin Up retired Alphabet Press embossing folder.  I stamped the chalkboard and the other elements from the Lawn Fawn set.  I measured the inside of the chalkboard and cut a piece of black Stampin Up chalkboard paper.  I then took my finger and smeared some white Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment ink on it.  I then stamped the sentiment with white pigment ink and added some white embossing powder and heat set it.  I colored the elements on the board with copics.  I finished the card off by adding some twine.

Thanks again for stopping by, please don't forget to stop over at the Retro Rubber Challenge blog and join the fun and check out the beautiful projects the design team members have created. You have until September the 8th to join in on the fun!

Joy Clair - Rose Sentiment

Hello everyone!

I am here with Joy Clair, I am featuring one of the most recent newly released stamp set called Rose Sentiments.  This is a beautiful set, the sentiments are in a beautiful script.   The sent is so versatile you can make all kinds of card with this set such as  sympathy, get well, congrats and so on.  I have a wedding card that I made today.   The roses are beautiful, I have colored mine with copics, but you can use any media you would like.   If you have not seen all the beautiful designs the team has created, please stop by the Joy Clair blog to see them.

Here is my card for your inspiration:

How I put my card together:

1.  My card measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, the white layer measures 5 1/4 x 4,

2.  I embossed the white layer,

3.  I then die cut the Victorian looking die,

4.  I stamped my image with memento black ink (since I was coloring the image with copics),

5.  I then colored my image with copics using R27, 46 and 59, the leaves are YR03, 17, 68.  I then centered the stitched die over my image and die cut it out,

6.  I then took a piece of black cardstock and stamped my sentiment from the Rose Sentiments stamp set with versamark ink,

7.  I then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I die cut it out and adhered it to my rose image with foam tape,

8.  I finished the card off by adding some clear round drops with wet glue.

Here is a closer look at the image, so many details in the flower.  I am still learning shadows, I hope one day to really be a professional at coloring them.

Here is how I created my card:
  1. My card is an A2 card (vertical) measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2,
  2. I cut a piece of cardstock to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, I die cut a circle on a piece of post it note and used it as a mask to create the moon.  I then took the circle I die cut out and covered the moon and distress the rest of the card with distress inks ( Chip Sapphire, Black Soot, Mustard Seed, Seedless Preserve, Antique Linen and Victorian Velvet).  I sprayed some Shimmer splattered some distress white picket paint onto the finished distress inked piece and adhered this to my card,

Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #69

Hello everyone!

I'm here with Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and we have another wonderful sketch challenge for you.  I love sketches because it gives you a chance to be creative.  Here is the sketch, I hope you will join the fun.  You have until August 25th to join the challenge.

No automatic alt text available.

The rules to play along with Retro Rubber are very simple, make sure the stamp you use on your project is at least one year or older.   For more details on the rules, you can find them over on Retro Rubber Challenge blog.  Be sure to stop over on the Retro Rubber Challenge blog to get more inspiration, the design team has some wonderful creations!

Here is my take on the sketch!

I am using one of my old but favorite stamp by Stampin Up called "Sail Away", which was released sometime in April 2011 and I believe retired now.  I decided I wanted to create my card horizontally, but still using the sketch.  I cut the two panels, then masked off the top panel to create the sun.  Next I created my background, making the water, mountains and clouds.  I then stamped the boat image and added the birds.  I finished the card off by adding the sentiment.

Here I am showing you I added some wink of stella to make the water look like it is sparkling.  Can you just image it, sitting in the boat looking at the beautiful water?

Thanks again for stopping by, please don't forget to stop over at the Retro Rubber Challenge blog and join the fun and check out the beautiful projects the design team members have created. You have until June 2nd to join in on the fun!

Thinking of You

Hello everyone,

I have a CAS card I am sharing with you today.  My card was inspired by the CASology Challenge this week and the cue word is "Safari".  It was also inspired by the a2z Scrapbooking Challenge this month which is "bright and beautiful".  I think I managed to create both of these challenges.  The sun is bright and beautiful and love the silhouette of the giraffe.  I am using the Hero Arts Birthday Animal Silhouette stamp set and the sentiment came from the Hero Arts Color Layering Water Lillies.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back again soon!

Joy Clair - Let's Celebrate

Hello everyone,

I am here with Joy Clair with a birthday card to share with you.  It's the summer time, and it just seems like everyone's birthday is during the summer months.  My granddaughters have lots of birthday party's to attend!

Here is my card I have to share with you today.  It's a cute birthday card that is perfect for a child.  The set is called "Let's Celebrate, it has lots of images you can use.  This set is very versatile.  I chose to just use the balloons on my card today.

Here is a closer look at it....do you see the shimmer?  I used some Shimmer Sparkle spray to get the shine.

Here is how I put my card together:

1.  An A2 card,
2.  I masked my card off so I would have the distress color in the center of my card,

3.  I added some of the images to my card with ink,
4.  I sprayed my card with Shimmer Spray,
5.  I then cut the balloons out using my Silhouette,
6.  I colored them using Copic markers - these are the colors I used:
R81, 83, 85,  Y17, Y38, YR68, and BV05, 07, 09,
7.  After the Shimmer dried, I adhered the two balloons to the card and added the middle one with dimensionals,
8.  I finished off my card by adding the sentiment.

Have you stopped by the Joy Clair blog to play along with the current challenge which is "anything goes". If not, please come play, Joy Clair will be giving away one $25 gift card to the Joy Clair Store, randomly selected to give everyone a chance to win.

A Blog Named Hero with WOW!

Hello everyone!

I am here with A Blog Named Hero and we are collaborating with WOW this month!  WOW has many products, today I am featuring their embossing powders, embossing glitters  and foil.  I had so much fun using their products, I could not just make one card.  I have three here to share with you today.  Please stop by A Blog Named Hero's blog tomorrow for more inspiration and a new challenge!

Here are my cards:

All my cards are A2 cards.  This card,  I am using Hero Arts "Drippy Lines Bold Print" background stamp.  I inked the stamp with WOW embossing pad and then embossed with WOW "Unicorn Magic".  I also stamped the butterfly twice from the Hero Arts "Die and Stamp - Butterfly" and embossed it with the WOW "Unicorn Magic" then I colored the butterfly with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and added some clear Wink of Stella. I then stamped the Happy Birthday from the Hero Arts "Year Round Sentiments" with the WOW "Metallic Gold Rich" Super Fine embossing powder and adhered it to my card.  I finished my card off by adding some sequins.

My next card is one of my favorite stamps by Hero Art called "Leafy Vines".  I again inked the stamp using the WOW embossing pad and added the WOW glitter embossing powder called "Princess Pink".  I added the sentiment from the Hero Arts "Many Everyday Messages" stamp set and embossed it with WOW "Red Pearl".  A clean and simple card, but elegant!  This card would be perfect for a wedding.

My last card, I am using the WOW "Bright Silver" Foil, this picture doesn't show all the details of the beautiful foil.  I don't own a laser printer, so I stamped the Hero Arts Leafy Vine stamp with black Archival Ink on some white cardstock and took the image to Staples and had them make a few copies on their laser copier (they didn't charge me anything because I brought my own paper).  I then added the foil to the laser copy and ran it through my Laminator.  I added my sentiment from Hero Arts "Many Everyday Messages" stamp set.  I embossed it with the WOW "Opaque Seafoam White".

I hope I have inspired you in some way to get those embossing materials out and have fun!  Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back again soon.
