The Scrapping Cottage - Hello + GIVEAWAY

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am here with the "Scrapping Cottage".  Have you seen the June release of the CottageCutz dies, you will find houses, trees, cars, trucks, clouds, furniture, vintage phone and tv and so much more!  Wow what a release.  I am using the "Vintage TV & Phone" die to make my card.

My card is an A2 card, I cut my first layer 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I cut the blue layer from the double-stitched Rectangle set.  I then cut a tag out from the Mail Tag Set twice and used just the top part of the top layer of the tag.  I the die cut the phone out of black and grey, there are three parts to this phone.  I popped up the phone with foam tape and added some stripe to the back of "hello" to give it some dimension.  I finished off the card with ribbon and twine.

Closer look at the phone and hello.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you will take the time and check out the new release. Also, there is time to play along with the CottageCutz challenge. The theme is POCKET. You can linked your project here. And please, use only Scrapping Cottage dies.

GIVEAWAY:  Join my blog on the left side of my blog.  Leave a comment that you are following and your name will be in the drawing to win a small die from CottageCutz which is the word I used on my card "Hello".  Thanks and good luck.  The answer will be announced on July 8th.

Joy Clair - New Release Seas the Day!

Saturday, June 25, 2016

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing two cards using that cute set called "Seas the Day" from Joy Clair!  This stamp set was designed by Crystal Thompson, one of the design team members, and I am loving this cute stamp set!  This set has three sentiments and several different stamps to design your mermaid anyway you would like.

For my first card I used an embossing folder for the background. For the background enter circle, I used some distress ink and a sponge to make the water look darker at the bottom and lighter at the top. I stamped and fuzzy cut the mermaid, colored her with copics and popped her up on the circle frame. I added the sentiment and a couple of the other elements from the stamp set, I stamped and colored with copics and added them to my card.

For my second card, I used another embossing folder for the background.  I inked the embossing folder with some distress inks and it through the big shot.  I die cut the circle for a frame to look like the peak hole on a ship.  Added some foam tape behind the circle and added my sequins in the shaker.  I die cut the mermaid and added a few images from the Mermaid set and colored them with copics.

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am here with Retro Rubber Challenge blog and we have a new challenge, it is "red, white and blue". Oh how fun does that sound!!!  Love these colors together.  I have made a clean and simple card, but has lots of layers.  The stamp set is from a Hero Arts set called "Year Round Sentiments".  This is one of my favorite sets, if you need a sentiment, this is my go to set.  I have had this set for a while, I believe it was released around March 2012.

My card is an A2 card.  I stamped my sentiment in navy and added some stickles in the stars.   I put all my layers together and popped up the sentiment with popped dots.  I added the stars and could not resist using the white enamel white stars.

Thanks for stopping by, I sure hope you join us in the challenge!  I look forward to seeing your creations.  Don't forget to stop over to the Retro Rubber blog to see what the other designers have created.

Hello everyone,

I am here with "The Scrapping Cottage" using the CottageCutz dies!  Who loves coffee?  I do!  I drink at least one cup a day.  The Scrapping Cottage has some really cute coffee dies and I am using the "Cup of Latte" on my card today.  It's another clean and simple card.

How I put my card together:

1.  Card base A2 4 1/4 X 5 1/2
2.  The design papers measure 2 1/2 x 2 1/2
3.  I cut a small piece of design paper and tucked it under the pink layer
4.  Cut the circle out of the cross stitched circle die (third die from the largest)
5.  Stamped my sentiment
6.  Die cut all the pieces from the Cup of Latte die set
7.  Put the coffee pieces together
8.  The steam coming out of the cup is cut from vellum

All done!  This is such a cute card and I love this die set....you will see this again.  CottageCutz has a new release for this month, I hope you will stop over at the store and check it out.  All of the new release is 25% off.  Come back and visit the blog soon, the design team will have some wonderful creations for your inspiration!

a2z Scrapbooking - Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Thursday, June 16, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am stopping in to play along with the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with a2z Scrapbooking! a2z Scrapbooking is one of the sponsors for the hop, among lots of other sponsors. a2z is giving away two prizes, which is a gift certificate for the store and a stamp package. If you have not figured it out, the theme is Summer and you need to use coffee, tea or cocoa image on your project. The hop will run from Friday, June 17 - Friday June 24.

On my card I am featuring the Hero Arts stamp called "Cup of Coffee". This is an old stamp, but the a2z Scrapbooking store has the digital files called "Hero Arts Caffeine Fix Coffee and Latte Digital Kit" with this stamp image and 11 other stamped images. This is a great set to have.  I used the sentiment from the digital file, that goes perfect with the coffee cup image.

How I put my card together:  I used an A2 size card, I cut the first layer 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I then printed the sentiment on card stock and cut it out with a die.  I then stamped the coffee cup image on cardstock and fuzzy cut it out.  I stamped in on the white piece also so the steam would be coming out the cup.  I added the button and twine from my stash.

Please take a minute to stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking blog to see all the wonderful coffee cards they have created!

Thank you so much for stopping by, I will be back soon with some more coffee related cards!  I love stamp sets with coffee images.

TE Share Joy #39 - I Love My Dog!

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am stopping in to play along with the Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #39.  There is a sketch and tic-tac-toe inspiration for this challenge.  I decided to do both.  Here is my take:

I just go the new release  "Max" stamp and die set.  Isn't he just the cutest.  I colored the lab with copics, then used some stickles for his collar.  I then stamped the bone on the TE felt and cut it out.  I stamped the sentiment from the "Lefty" stamp and die set.

Here is a closer view so you can see the glitter on the color.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Please come back again soon!

a2z Scrapbooking June Challenge - Happy Birthday

Thursday, June 9, 2016

Hello everyone!!

It's June and a2z Scrapbooking has a new challenge which is “To Die For”!!!!! You can use any Hero Arts Die on your project this month. This is going to be a super fun challenge!!  I love using dies on most of my projects.  Please be sure that your project contains at least one main Hero Arts die cut as the focal element!

Here is my card:

Closer look at the butterfly.....

  • I am using the Hero Arts "Delicate Butterfly Fancy Die" and the Hero Art "Ribbon Messages" Stamp & Cut set.  I am also using the Hero Arts "Chevron Stencil Pair".
  •  I started out with an A2 card.
  •  I had this watercolor/ombre  paper in my stash and I wanted to add some dimension, so I used the chevron stencil with black hero arts ink.  I like how it turned out, gave the paper a total new look.

  • I cut out the butterfly out on 80 lbs cardstock.  I colored the butterfly with three colors of copics to match my paper.  I then added some stickles.
  • After the butterfly dried I then added my butterfly to my die cut circle with glue dots.
  •  I die cut the frame out for my sentiment. Stamped the frame with versamark from the Ribbon Messages" Stamp & Cut set, then used the Hero Arts white embossing powder to heat set.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope I have inspired you to join the a2z Scrapbooking challenge this month. For more details on the challenge, you can find it here.
