a2z Scrapbooking February Challenge - Hello Thinking of You

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

Hello everyone,

I am here with a2z Scrapbooking sharing with you a card with masking and layering. This month's challenge is masking. Here is my card:

I used the Hero Arts Layering Large Orchid stamp set for my card.  My card is an A2 card which I embossed.  I cut a panel 2 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches. The panel for the layer is 2 3/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches. I stamped my image with Hero Arts Dusty Blue Shadow ink. Then I stamped the middle of the orchid with Hero Arts Navy Mid Tone Shadow ink. For the masking I cut the large flower out with the Hero Arts Large Orchid Frame Cuts and covered the stamped image so I could mask some of the smaller flowers and stems. I don't know if there are blue Orchids, but I love how they look on the Navy background. For the sentiment, I cut two "hello" out from the Hello Stamp and Cut stamp set and adhered them together. I cut out a piece of vellum (1 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches) stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Sayings with Hero Arts Black ink and glued the vellum on my card with glue dots that are behind the hello so you would not see the adhesive.

Retro Rubber Winter Challenge #32

Tuesday, February 16, 2016

I have two post today, if you are looking for the Joy Clair Blog Hop, click here.

Hello everyone,

I am here with Retro Rubber Challenge and we have a winter theme/outdoor challenge for you! According to the groundhog we are suppose to have an early Spring!!!! So bring it on, I am so ready for it.

Here is my take on the winter theme challenge. I love this stamp set, it is made by Impression Obsession "Sweet Snow Kisses" and it was released in July 2014. The little girl is kissing the snowman, I guess after she built him. Don't you just love the rolling hills/snow on my card. I did this scene by masking off the snowman and little girl. I tore a few sheets of paper and used a sponge and inked around the edge of the paper. I added the trees from the Stampin Up "Lovely as a Tree" set by using the sheets that I tore and masked off the hills so I could stamp the trees. Such a cute scene!

I hope I have inspired you to join the fun.  Hop on over to Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and see what the design team has created and link your project.  I can't wait to see your winter theme creation.  The challenge ends on February 26th!

Hello everyone,

It's a2z Scrapbooking's February challenge which is Masking.  What is masking ?  Masking is a basic stamping technique where you cover a stamped image so that other images could be placed over it. The images stamped over the mask will be behind the covered up image.  My card is not exactly masking, it is layering.  Hero Arts has a series of layering stamps and I love them.  I am using the Color Layering Butterflies.  I have used the ombre inks to stamp the butterfly.  I used the Lilac to Grape Purple for the first layer.  Then I stamped the second layer with the Grape color and the top layer with Pool to Navy.  I stamped the sentiment below the butterfly.  I cut the image out into a pendant shape.  My card is an A2 card, I used the Hero Arts Forest Floor Bold Print Cling.  I inked the stamp with VersaMark and layed my card on the stamp pressing firmly to get a nice clean image.  Here is my card.....
