My Vagabond!

Sunday, January 29, 2012

Happy Sunday everyone,

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and ready for another week.  Can you believe what nice weather we have had.  If you live on the East Coast, remember February 2010 we got all that snow?  I hope it continues to be nice and we don't get as much snow as everyone else in the world is having!

Well, I wanted to share with you my new toy, if you have one leave a comment on how you like it.  I have not tested it out yet, bought it at my LSS on Wednesday and just took it out of the box yesterday.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

Mojo Monday 225 - Happy Valentines Day

Thursday, January 26, 2012

Hello Bloggers and Friends,

I hope everyone's week has been going well, just one more day and it will be Friday.  Here in Northern Virginia we have had some pretty mild weather, while my friend in the Northwest has been having snow and ice storms.  She didn't have electricity for about 4 days, moved into a hotel for most of those days.  Went home and the electricity went out again.  I sure hope you are doing well and staying warm where ever you are!!!

Well, I have been busy creating and making some cards to post on my blog.  I also got a new toy today from my LSS!!!  I will post a picture later.

Well here is my take on the Mojo Monday card, I hope you like it.  If you do leave me a message to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Love is in the Air

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Hello blog friends,

Can you believe another post in one week.  I told you my New Year's resolution was to post more often.  I hope someone will see my work and want me to be on a design team.  That is on my bucket list is to design for someone.  I think it would be a lot of work, but I am ready for the challenge.  So with all that said, if someone is looking and wants me to design for them email me right away.

Can you believe it is almost February!  I was thinking of something to make and came up with this card.  It is made with the Stampin Up DSP called "Sending Love Speciallty".  I beleive this paper is from 2010, but I love it!  You can use this for any occasion, it does not have to be just for Valentines Day.  I also used the SU chocolate paper, the pink is bazzil.  The rosette was made from Tim Holtz large rosette die and the scallops is a Spellbinders die.  I also used the SU petals-a-penny embossing folder.  I believe the sentiment is from Verve Stamps.  Thanks for looking and leave a comment if you would like.

On Her Way

Sunday, January 22, 2012

I hope everyone has had a great weekend.  Isn't it funny how the week can drag and the weekends just fly by.  This weekend was ver cold, we got a little dusting of snow.  My friend that lives in Washington State has gotten a lot of snow.  She has not had electricity since Wednesday.  She says her electricity is not expected to be back on until Monday or Tuesday.  See when you live in the country these things happen (smile).

On Thursday, my local scrapbook store had another "Wendy Vecchi" class and I took it.  I just love these pieces of art work.  While making this project my hands got so dirty, but it is worth it after the project is completed.  Thanks again for looking at my projects if you like it, please leave a comment.  Follow me if you keep coming back.  Have a great week and be safe.

This is a closer picture of the inside of the box.

I can't remember everything we used, but I can list some items.  We used Tim Holtz distress inks, art parts from Wendy Vecchi, 7 gypsie book cover is used on the back of the box.  Oh forgot to tell you the box is a cigar box, we detached the top and used it as the bottom that looks like an atlas.  I just love making these types of projects, please stop back by to see more.

Mojo Monday 224 - Saturday

Saturday, January 21, 2012

Happy Saturday everyone, I know I already posted in this Mojo Monday sketch.  I was inspired to do another card after I was looking at some of the post.  It's not exactly like this card, but I had the same paper "Black Currant" by DCWV and had never used it and thought this was a great time to do a card.  Here is the link to my inspiration http://stampinwithsugar.blogspot.com/2012/01/birthday-wishes.html

Another reason for blogging is to give you an update on my previous post.  I talked about my neice graduating and looking for a full time job, well she received a job offer on Wednesday!!!  Congratulations Felicia on your new job.

Here is my card and the recipe.  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Graduation - Cricut Card

Friday, January 20, 2012

I'm so proud of my neice.  She graduated in December from Old Dominion.  She graduated with a degree in accounting!!!  Now she is working in an accounting firm that she worked in while she was in school and looking for a full-time job.  If you are looking for someone who just graduated from college with an accounting degree let me know and I will put her in touch with you.  It is so hard for these young adults that are graduating from college to get jobs.  Hopefully the econony will turn around in the next couple of years!!!  We parents have paid a lot of money to put our children through college and then they can't even find a job!  Ok, enough about that.  Here is a picture of the happy graduate:

This is the card I made for the graduate.  I used the "Wild Card" cartridge to cut everything out.  Added a little bling and a sentiment (sticker) on the front of the card.

Wendy Vecchi

Monday, January 16, 2012

This summer I took a class out in Savage, MD with the designer, artist and owner of studio 490 stamps, Wendy Vecchi. I had so much fun! The little town was so cute, the scrapbook store the class was being offered was called "the Queens Ink". Very nice Scrapbooking, stamps and art supply store. The shop is among many shops and restaurants which is located in the old cotton mill. The basement floor is full of antique shops. Here are a couple of pictures of the Queens Ink store:

This is the owner of the "Queens Ink Store.  Check out their blog:  http://www.queensink.com/.

This is Wendy Vecchi who is teaching the class.

This is the finished product!!!  Love how mine came out.  Lots of details put worth the time and effort to make it.
